Diet and Alzheimer’s

We have experienced Alzheimer in our family. It first struck a grandparent, then a parent. It is devastating for families, and certainly a tragedy for the patient.

Over the last few weeks, I have been focusing on a Low Carb, higher fat (LCHF) diet to lower my blood glucose levels. The short version of the story is that it worked. I plan to eat this way for the rest of my life. I am eating all unprocessed foods, and all low glycemic index (GI) foods. Sadly, the version of the proper diet that we were taught in the 80s and 90s has lead to serious health issues for multiple generations of adults, and it has been especially hard on boomers. I am down nearly 30 pounds, but more importantly I feel great, and my health markers are so much better.

What does this have to do with Alzheimer’s. Well, watch this video, and let me know what you think.

I’ll have more to say about my eating strategy later. For now, stay healthy.
