The AI-powered grocery experience

I have not experienced it yet, but Amazon is about to open their first Amazon Go Grocery store. A lot has already been written about how it works so I’m not going to write about that. Besides, given that the first store will be in Seattle, it’s not like I can walk down the street and experience it myself.

I will be interested to see how consumers respond to the lack interactions with people. I am a geek .. and I love interacting with my smart phone. I like ordering product for home delivery. That said, when I go to a brick-and-mortar store, I like the interaction with people.

It appears that Amazon is only providing staples like bread, milk. They will not have a full service bakery. There will be no large soft drink or dairy section. This is about convenience for a limited product range.

I want to try this. That’s all I can say today.
